The gf and I just got back (to Queens) from the "Last Play at Shea"-
Billy Joel in concert, at Shea Stadium.
But since there's another concert on Friday, I guess it was the next to last play at Shea.
So now I can say I made it to Shea Stadium. And I saw Billy Joel perform there. AMAZING.

Sounds like a wonderful life experience -- gotta have those from time to time! I guess I must be more American than I realize at times b/c there is just something about a baseball stadium being retired that gets me ...

oooh, fun! It seems like it was so far away when you got the tickets and now it's passed - seems to be the way this year is going.

A band my friends have -- The Nixon Years -- did a Billy Joel song when they played last weekend, and I couldn't tell how mean/ironical they were being. I really like some of his songs, but some are too cheesy for me.
I can tell you loved it since you didn't mind spending AN HOUR just leaving!
